Munich padel shoes
Munich padel shoes
Munich is a Spanish brand that has been making sports shoes since 1939 and has positioned itself prominently as a padel specialist in recent years. The brand stands out because it has developed its own sole technology specifically tuned to the demands of padel. Top players like Franco Stupaczuk trust Munich for their match shoes, demonstrating that the technology performs at the highest level.
Munich technologies that genuinely deliver
- Grip Line: Munich's own sole technology with a double herringbone pattern that grips in all directions. Specifically developed for artificial grass and sandy surfaces. The double layer provides more traction on explosive starts and safer sliding on direction changes.
- X-Lite: an expanded EVA foam midsole with high absorption. Lighter than standard EVA but with equivalent cushioning. The weight of the shoe drops, responsiveness increases and the load on the knee and ankle is reduced.
- TPU reinforcement: thermoplastic polyurethane on the upper and sides of the shoe. Stiffer than mesh but lighter than leather. Provides targeted reinforcement on the zones that wear most in padel: the inner side of the forefoot during direction changes.
- Pivot points in the sole: Munich integrates strategically placed round areas in the forefoot. These let you rotate faster and more fluidly when defending off the glass wall, without the knee having to fully absorb the rotational force.
Models in our range
- Munich Atomik: the most durable and versatile model. KPU mesh upper, Grip Line sole and X-Lite cushioning. Suited for both training and matches, for men and women. The model for players who want a reliable everyday padel shoe that lasts.
- Munich Padx: the flagship model, developed with and worn by Franco Stupaczuk. Double herringbone sole with Grip Line, TPU reinforcement on the instep and X-Lite cushioning. The most attacking and technically advanced Munich model.
- Munich Hydra: built for intermediate players who want technology without the high price of the Padx. Hybrid sole combining herringbone and omni. Good for players who play on varying court types.
Why Munich and not a bigger brand?
Munich does not have a tennis division or football shoes that share costs. The padel division is the core of the brand. That means R&D is entirely focused on what padel demands. The sole technology, fit and material choices have not been compromised by adapting an existing tennis model. Players who want a shoe designed from the ground up for padel often choose Munich.
Noene insoles: even with a good shoe
A good padel shoe is the foundation. On courts with shorter fibres and less spring, vibrations still come through the sole. Noene insoles absorb and eliminate up to 96 percent of those vibrations. They are only 1 to 2 millimetres thick and fit in any shoe. We recommend Noene preventively to every player, even if you already wear good padel shoes.
Frequently asked questions
Do Munich padel shoes run small or large?
Munich shoes generally fit true to size or slightly small. With the Padx, going half a size up is sometimes recommended. Always consult the size guide on the product page.
Are Munich padel shoes also suitable for women?
Yes. The Atomik is a unisex model that works well for both men and women. The fit is neutral in character. For a specific women's fit there are women's models available in the collection.
