The adidas Metalbone Pro EDT 2026 is Ale Galán's signature racket: a limited edition diamond racket built for pure attack. Our measurement shows where that power comes from, and what it asks of you.
Our measurement
The core characteristics at a glance
Measured on our Wilson Baiardo Tune Pro. Real numbers, not box copy.
Soft. At 63, the core sits at the top of soft, just below hard. That is notable for a power racket: the power here does not come from a rock-hard core, but from the balance and swingweight. The core therefore stays relatively comfortable.
Our hardness scale
Stiff, weight towards the head. At 171 the mass clearly sits towards the head. On court you feel a racket that generates enormous power on the smash, but turns more slowly and asks more of your arm and technique. This is not a racket you steer back easily.
Our swingweight scale
345 to 360 grams
head heavy (285 mm)
In practice: a true power racket. The head-heavy balance and stiff swingweight deliver maximum punch on the smash and the attacking volley, but make it demanding and taxing on the arm. A little more accessible than you'd expect thanks to the relatively soft core, but unmistakably an attacking weapon for those with the technique.
Who is this racket for
Well suited to: the advanced to pro player with good technique who takes the initiative, finishes points and wants maximum power on the smash.
Less suited to: beginners, intermediate players, and anyone with a sensitive elbow, wrist or shoulder. The head-heavy balance and high swingweight increase the load on your arm with every shot.
Metalbone or Cross It Pro: which fits you
Both rackets come from the adidas Pro EDT 2026 line, but they are opposites. The Metalbone is a diamond-shaped power racket: head-heavy, high swingweight, built to finish points. The Cross It Pro is round, soft and neutrally balanced, built for control and comfort. In short: choose the Metalbone if you want to dominate and finish, and the Cross It Pro if you want to steer the game with placement and ease.
Playing characteristics
The diamond shape places the sweet spot high in the face, exactly where you need it on the smash and the attacking volley. Combined with the head-heavy balance and stiff swingweight, this racket accelerates your shots explosively. The flip side is that it is less forgiving on off-center contact and turns more slowly than a neutral racket, so it rewards you when your technique and timing are right.
Technology
The Weight and Balance System lets you adjust the weight and balance with removable weights, a total of 11.2 grams of range. The Power Groove, a rail in the racket's profile, increases structural rigidity and enhances power. The octagonal structure and the extended Extra Power Grip further add to the inertia and power in your shots. The core is an EVA Soft Performance rubber, which explains the relatively comfortable response we measured despite the power character.

Frequently asked questions
What level is the Metalbone intended for?
For the advanced to pro player with good technique. Because of the head-heavy balance and stiff swingweight, you only get the best out of it once you have the swing speed and physique to control it.
Is the Metalbone suitable with a sensitive elbow?
Preferably not. Despite the relatively soft core, the head-heavy balance and high swingweight significantly increase the load on your arm. If you suffer from padel elbow, choose a lighter, more neutral racket and ask us for advice.
What does the Weight and Balance System do?
It lets you shift removable weights inside the racket, a total of 11.2 grams. This lets you tune it between a more controlled and an even more attacking feel.
Can I have the racket adjusted to my weight?
Yes. At our Padel Experience Center we adjust the racket to your preferred weight and balance.
