Padel shorts for men

Men's padel shorts are designed for the specific movements of padel: fast lateral lunges, low volleys, short steps in the service position and explosive smashes. A good padel short moves with you without slipping, has a ball pocket that holds the second serve ball, and is long enough to provide coverage on a low knee bend without fabric getting in the way of quick steps.

Length and fit

Padel shorts typically end just above the knee. A bit shorter than a football short, a bit longer than a running short. Too short and the short rides up on a low volley or lunge. Too long and the fabric gets in the way of short quick steps. The fit is wide enough for freedom of movement but tight enough not to flap during serve.

The details that make the difference

• Ball pocket: essential. A separate pocket where the second serve ball fits without falling out. Without a ball pocket a padel short is unusable.
• Pockets: two side pockets for keys, phone or grip tape. Some models have a closed zip pocket for valuables.
• Elastic waistband: 3-5 cm wide with drawstring. Must not slip during lunges. A good band holds without pinching.
• Material: polyester with moisture-wicking, light stretch (5-10 percent elastane). Keeps your short light and dry after an hour of play.

30 degrees or lower, no fabric softener, dry inside out. High temperatures damage the moisture-wicking coating and cause the stretch to lose function.
