Playing character

12K carbon is woven from vertical and horizontal carbon tapes, which makes it noticeably stiffer than 18K and roughly 25% thinner. Less material, more rigidity. On court that translates into a direct, hard, unfiltered feel: the ball leaves the face fast and you know precisely what it is doing.

Under that stiff face sits the MLD Black EVA core, and that is what keeps the racket playable. Multiple rubber densities give you ball exit on slow defensive shots where a stiff face would normally punish you and a serious kick on the finishing smash.

Then there is XTREM Surface. Nox took the silica sand finish and pushed it further: a rougher, more aggressive texture that grabs the ball harder. If you live off spin kick serves, heavy bandeja, topspin lobs that jump off the back glass this is where the 12K earns its money.

• Weight Balance: interchangeable 2 g and 4 g counterweights. Set your own weight and balance, no tools, compatible with a frame protector.
• EOS Tunnel: side perforations in the shaft. Better aerodynamics, faster swing, optimised weight distribution.
• DCS (Dynamic Composite Structure): extra material from the frame four centimetres into the face. No stiffness jump, fewer broken fibres on off-centre hits.
• Pulse System: rubber inserts along the frame that dampen vibration before it reaches your hand.

Reasonable technique required: a stiff face is honest, and it will tell you when you hit it badly.

Storage and care

The EVA core is sensitive to extremes. Store the racket between 15 and 25 °C. Not in a hot car (above roughly 50 °C the EVA softens irreversibly) and not in the frost (below 5 °C it goes hard and brittle). Use a bag with a thermal compartment and let the racket acclimatise 15 to 20 minutes before intensive play. A protector will keep the XTREM Surface and the LTD paintwork intact much longer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy the racket without the pack? No. This LTD design is only released as a pack, together with its exclusive accessories.

What is XTREM Surface exactly? An evolution of Nox's silica sand rough surface: a more aggressive texture that generates more spin. It sits on the face of the 12K XTREM, where the 18K uses Dual Spin.

Is the 12K harder on the arm than the 18K? It is stiffer and more direct, yes. Pulse System, Custom Grip® and the MLD core absorb a lot, but if you are sensitive to elbow trouble the 18K Alum is the safer choice.
