Padel shirts for women

The padel shirt is the most-worn item on court and therefore also the most important to choose well. The wrong shirt chafes under your armpits halfway through a match, sticks to your back or restricts your movement on a high volley. A good padel shirt still feels after an hour and a half as if you just put it on. That is not a luxury, that is the standard you can expect from technically developed padel clothing.

What sets a good padel shirt apart

• Moisture-wicking: the fabric moves sweat to the outside of the material, where it evaporates faster than on your skin. The difference between a polyester blend and cotton is noticeable within ten minutes of play.
• Stretch in the shoulders: smashes, bandejas and high volleys demand free shoulder rotation. A shirt without stretch restricts your swing and pulls at the back seam.
• Shirt length: just over the hips, not shorter. A too short shirt rides up on every lunge. A too long shirt gets in the way of a low ball.
• Flat seams: particularly under the armpits and on the shoulders. Chafing seams cause irritation after an hour of intensive play.

Short sleeve, long sleeve or tank top?

Short sleeve is the standard for most women padel players: sufficient shoulder cover, maximum freedom of movement, broadly usable across indoor and outdoor seasons. Long sleeve is a good choice for colder indoor courts or as sun protection on outdoor courts in summer. Tank tops provide maximum airflow for the hottest days or for players who want complete shoulder freedom.

Care

Wash at 30 degrees or lower. No fabric softener. Dry inside out. With these three rules your padel shirts last twice as long and retain their moisture-wicking function. High temperatures damage the technical layer of the fabric.
