Bullpadel positions the Vertex 05 2027 around the concept of Total Play: a racket that combines power control maneuverability and stability. On paper the new version looks identical to the 2026: same diamond shape same 12K carbon face same MultiEva core same balance of 25.5 cm and same weight range of 365-375 grams.
So what has changed? We measured both rackets on our Wilson Baiardo Tune Pro. The result is clear: the difference sits in two values and one of them is big enough to feel on court.
How do we measure?
The Wilson Baiardo Tune Pro is the industry standard for objectively measuring racket characteristics in padel. Padel brands use the same equipment to calibrate their own rackets before launch. We put every racket we sell on this meter so we know in advance what you get in your hand.
Two values are crucial:
Hardness: how stiffly the core reacts on impact. On our scale this runs from 50 (extremely soft) to 75 (extremely hard). A difference of 1 point is subtle and not always noticeable for everyone. A difference of 3 to 5 points becomes clearly noticeable.
Swingweight: how heavy the racket feels during the swing. On our scale this runs from 140 (weight near the hand) to 185 (weight in the head). Below 160 we call maneuverable. Between 161 and 170 neutral. Above 170 stiff. A difference of 5 points within this scale is big enough to cause a category shift.
With that in mind the comparison of the two Vertex versions becomes much more concrete.

Two things to note:
Hardness: a difference of 1 point (65 to 64). Both rackets sit in the "hard" segment on our scale. This difference is small and not all players will feel it.
Swingweight: a difference of 5 points (162 to 157). This is a category shift on our scale. The 2026 sits in the neutral segment (161-170). The 2027 falls in the maneuverable segment (below 160). This is felt on court.
What does this mean on court?
The 5-point swingweight drop is the most important change. Swingweight measures how heavy a racket feels during the swing. This is determined by how mass is distributed along the axis of the racket. With a lower swingweight the racket accelerates more easily through your swing and moves faster between shots.
At the net
Here you feel the difference most clearly. A difference of 5 swingweight points sounds small but in on-court practice the difference sits in tempo. In fast exchanges at the net we are talking about milliseconds. A lower swingweight means your racket gets onto the ball faster. As a result you hit the ball slightly earlier in your opponent's rhythm and keep more time to position yourself for the next shot.
This is not "easier" play. This is "earlier" play. The 2027 (sw 157) reacts faster on quick blocks double viboras and switches from defence to attack. Players who found the 2026 "just a bit too heavy at the net" will feel the 2027 as a clear improvement. Players who drew stability from that will lose some of it.
On the smash
Here the advantage tilts slightly towards the 2026. A higher swingweight means more mass moving through the ball. That pays off on overhead shots. The 2027 partly compensates through the slightly softer core (64 vs 65) which keeps the ball in the face a fraction longer. But on pure leverage the 2026 has the edge.
On vibora and bandeja
Both rackets work well here but in slightly different ways. The 2026 asks a bit more swing speed from you to get the mass through the ball and rewards you with a more compact harder-feeling ball. The 2027 accelerates faster and gives back a slightly more controlled rounder-feeling ball. Difference in feel not in quality.
From the back of the court
From the back of the court the difference is small. Both rackets share the same balance (25.5 cm) and the same face size (530 cm²). The 2027 feels marginally more comfortable thanks to the 1-point softer core but this is a subtle difference.

What do the Bullpadel terms mean in practice?
Bullpadel uses a number of technical terms around the Vertex 05 2027. Based on our testing experience this is what they actually mean for your game:
Total Play: Bullpadel's umbrella positioning concept for an all-round character. In our measurement we see this reflected in the deliberately more maneuverable swingweight which makes playing different shot types more accessible.
Vertex Core (5th generation): a structural construction in the heart of the racket. Bullpadel has moved from a double diagonal bridge structure to a triangular geometry. This evolution is aimed at less torsion and flexion on impact. Our measurement registers hardness and swingweight but not torsion resistance. What we can confirm: both Vertex versions feel stable on impact and that matches the intent of this construction.
Curv:Aktiv: construction of the sides of the frame with a variable cross-section. Supports the rigidity of the frame and its aerodynamics. Our measurement does not directly show the aerodynamic gain but does show the end result: the lower swingweight of the 2027.
AirPower: aerodynamic channel in the heart of the racket that accelerates the swing phase. Present in both Vertex generations. Supports the more maneuverable character of the 2027.
The main conclusion from our test: where Bullpadel speaks of "further refinement" we see this primarily in the swingweight shift. That is the most tangible practical change from 2026 to 2027.
Our conclusion
The Bullpadel Vertex 05 2027 is not a radically new racket. It is a refinement within the same line with one clearly noticeable change: the swingweight is 5 points lower which makes the racket react faster and feel more maneuverable at the net. The hardness drops by 1 point which gives a subtle comfort difference.
Both rackets are good. They are simply not identical in how they feel on court and that difference deserves a conscious choice based on how you play.

Is the Bullpadel Vertex 05 2027 better than the 2026? Not objectively better but different. The 2027 is more maneuverable (swingweight 157 vs 162) and marginally softer (hardness 64 vs 65). Whether that is an improvement depends on how you play.
What is the biggest difference on court? The 5-point swingweight drop. It is felt on quick movements at the net reaction volleys and switches between defence and attack.

Shape: a note on classification
NOX classifies this racket as a teardrop. Most webshops and reviewers adopt that classification. We come to a different conclusion.
When you physically hold this racket and look at the actual shape of the face, you see that the centre of gravity sits much closer to the neutral position than a true teardrop. The face is wider and shorter than the manufacturer photos suggest. We therefore classify the AT10 Luxury Genius 18K Alum 2026 as a round racket. This isn't criticism of NOX, it's simply what we see when we assess the racket ourselves.
Why this matters: shape determines where the sweet spot sits and how the racket reacts to off-centre shots. A round shape typically produces a more generous, forgiving sweet spot in the middle of the face. A teardrop or diamond shape shifts the sweet spot higher into the head, favouring power at the cost of forgiveness. If you expect this racket to play like a teardrop, you might be surprised at how much more forgiving it actually feels.
The technologies behind the racket
NOX has substantially upgraded this racket for 2026. Four technologies actually shape how it plays. The rest is largely cosmetic.
18K Alum carbon surface
An aluminium-coated 18K carbon layer on the hitting face. The aluminium coating provides a more consistent response in changing temperatures, summer and winter alike. The 18K weave is intentionally looser than the 12K NOX uses on its attacking models. It deforms slightly more under the ball, gives longer contact time, and therefore produces a softer, more comfortable hit feel. This explains why the hardness of 64 sits at the softer end of the hard segment rather than clearly in the middle or upper part.
MLD Black EVA core
A layered core with different rubber densities stacked on top of each other. In practice this means the ball response adapts to the hardness of your strike. On defensive shots you engage the softer layers, on smashes and attacking shots the harder layers. This gives the racket a scalable character: comfortable where you want it, powerful where you need it.
Adjustable weight system
New for 2026 and the most practical upgrade. With swappable inserts of 2 and 4 grams in the handle, you can adjust the balance of the racket without any tools. For net players this means a lighter-feeling racket with faster reactions. For attackers, extra weight in the head for the smash. It actually shifts the measured balance, and therefore the playing feel.
Dual surface structure for spin
A combination of 3D relief and a fine sand finish across the entire face. On older AT10 models, the sand texture was limited to the edges and the 3D relief to the centre. For 2026, both are applied across the whole face. This produces more consistent spin regardless of where you hit the ball. Important for players whose game relies on top or back spin.
The racket also includes a number of smaller features that NOX lists on the product page but which are less defining in practice:
Aerodynamic perforations: side openings that reduce air resistance during the swing.

What the numbers mean on the court
Hardness 64: hard, at the softer end
On our scale from 50 (extremely soft) to 75+ (extremely hard), the AT10 Luxury Genius 18K Alum 2026 comes in at 64. That places it right at the border between soft and hard. Not extremely hard, but at the start of the hard segment. On the court you feel that the ball doesn't sink deep into the surface, while the racket still gives enough comfort that mistimed hits don't punish you brutally.
Players coming from softer rackets will notice the ball leaving the surface more quickly. Those stepping down from extremely hard rackets (67+) will feel more absorption and therefore less load on the wrist and elbow.

Swingweight 157: weight closer to your hand
The swingweight of 157 on our scale tells you something specific. Not how "heavy" the racket is, but where the weight sits. On this racket, the weight sits relatively close to your hand, and less in the head. This has direct consequences for how the racket feels on the court.
You feel a racket that swings quickly. It turns easily in your hand, gets into position fast, and short reactions at the net or in defence happen effortlessly. At the same time, you give up some pure smash power. On a racket with more weight in the head, you get more punch on attacking shots. Not a quality difference, just a different choice by the manufacturer. Attacking players benefit from a higher swingweight, control players and all-rounders from a lower one.
Both weight itself and weight distribution play a role in wrist and elbow injuries. A heavy racket (above 375 grams) puts more load on the wrist regardless of where the weight sits. A racket with much weight in the head also amplifies leverage during the swing, further increasing load on wrist and elbow. Rackets within the same series can differ by 5 to 10 grams from one unit to another. A 363-gram unit plays noticeably differently from a 372-gram one, even though both are labelled "AT10 Luxury Genius 18K Alum 2026" on the box. How to keep this racket in top condition
A padel racket of this calibre lasts a long time, provided you treat it well. A few practical tips:
Do not leave it in the car during summer. EVA foam permanently softens above 50 degrees Celsius, even when the racket isn't being used. A racket that sits for an hour in a hot car can irreversibly lose power.
Do not store in freezing temperatures. EVA becomes brittle below about 5 degrees and prone to cracking. Store the racket at room temperature, ideally between 15 and 25 degrees.
Clean with a damp cloth. Avoid aggressive cleaners or solvents, as they damage the surface coating and reduce its spin properties.

First, how do arm injuries develop in padel?
Padel elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and wrist pain are the most common injuries among padel players, and the numbers are climbing alongside the sport's growth in the Netherlands. That makes sense: if you were one of the 876,000 padel players in the Netherlands in 2025 and you played at least twice a week, the strain on your elbow and wrist accumulates fast.
The core of the problem is vibration transfer. Every time the ball hits your racket, a shockwave is generated. A clean hit in the sweet spot delivers a short, contained vibration. An off-centre hit, an overly heavy ball or a flawed swing technique generates a much larger shock that travels from the racket through the grip into your wrist, elbow and ultimately your shoulder.
Three factors determine whether that shock becomes an injury:
The stiffness of the racket. Stiff materials like 18K carbon and hard EVA cores transfer vibrations undamped. Softer materials absorb part of the impact.
The balance and weight. A racket that's too heavy or too head-heavy increases the leverage acting on your wrist and elbow with every swing.
The grip and dampening. The interface between your hand and the racket determines how much vibration actually reaches your arm.

What should an arm-friendly Nox racket have?
In Alphen aan den Rijn we use four criteria for players with active or historical complaints:
Soft to medium-firm core: HR3 Soft EVA, HR3 White EVA or MLD Black EVA with a soft layer. These cores hold the ball on the face slightly longer and absorb more shock than hard HR3 Black EVA.
Round or teardrop shape with a large sweet spot:Â the bigger the tolerant zone, the fewer high-vibration off-centre hits you produce.
Lighter weight (350–365 grams) or a Lite version: less mass on the lever, less load per swing.
Low to medium balance point:Â weight closer to your hand means less rotational load on your wrist and elbow.

What do 12K and 18K actually mean?
The "K" in 12K and 18K stands for the number of filaments per carbon tow used to weave the racket face, expressed in thousands. 12K means each carbon tow contains 12,000 individual fibres. With 18K, that's 18,000 per tow.
The more filaments per tow, the finer and tighter the weave, and the stiffer the resulting surface. That has direct consequences for how the racket responds when the ball hits the face.

In practice, 12K suits the vast majority of recreational and advanced players better. Not because 12K is easier, but because most players don't yet have the technical consistency and swing speed needed to truly exploit 18K. With 18K, every off-centre hit feels harsh in the hand, and those add up across hundreds of shots in a session.
We mainly recommend 18K to players who train multiple times a week, have an aggressive playing style and already have experience with stiff diamond models. For everyone else, 12K Alum Xtrem is actually the smarter choice in 2026, because the Alum Xtrem evolution has narrowed the stiffness gap with 18K without giving up the comfort advantage.
